How to speed up your Internet Connection (Browsing Speed)

In this blog i will show you how you can speed up your internet speed using DNS. DNS stands for Domain Name Services and it changes www.facebook.com to an ip address that your computer can understand (if you dont understand dont worry). So if you have a fast DNS connection your computer can connect quicker. :)

So first your going to need to go to your router settings to do this your going to need to type in an ip to the URL bar. Now for every router its different for BT home hub you need to type: 192.168.1.254 for a list on most of the different ones click here. Now it should prompt you for a password unless you network admin has changed this it should be Username: admin Password: admin.
Now your into your routers setting locate to DNS settings. Set the primary DNS server to: 208.67.222.222 and Secondary DNS Server to 208.67.220.220. Done now your browsing speed should be significantly increased but wait theres another way to help this as well so keep reading. :)

Right so your connected to a fast DNS server but for the sights you visit most why not bypass the DNS server and connect straight to the sight? Well what you do is: go the site that you want to make load faster say for example facebook.com and bookmark it in you bookmarks bar then locate to cmd by clicking start and typing cmd. Then type ping www.facebook.com and you should see a list getting bigger an bigger with a long number that may look something like this 66.220.158.27 (on mac you can open Network Utility and go to the ping tab). Copy it and go back to your internet browser. Then right click on you bookmark and select edit then where it says URL: paste the number there. This has now increased your loading times of webpages, please leave a comment below if this worked.. :)
