How to fix Most Macs When they are Broken!

It this post i will show you how to troubleshoot and fix your mac. Now obviously this will not fix every issue possible but this is mainly focused on if your Mac is having trouble booting or doing strange things like icons missing after starting up.

Ok so the first thing you should do on your broken Mac is boot into safe mode. Safe mode disables all apps that could be interfering with your boot order and just loads the OS. Generally any boot problems can be fixed by booting into safe mode. Keep reading to find out how you can do this.

1. Make sure your Mac is off and plugged in. Then press the power button and hold shift immediately afterwards. Now wait for your Mac to start up. If it doesn't start up keep reading!

2. If it boots up log in as usual and if all is ok the problem should be recognised by the computer and fixed so just restart normally. NOTICE: Safe mode is slow, glitchy and lags for everyone so do not worry.

***Continue if problem still isn't fixed***

3. So if your problem still isn't fixed what you need to do is shut down your computer and this time press alt when your booting up. Then select the Recovery HD drive with the arrow keys.

4. You should boot up into something that looks like the picture to the left however if you cant even boot into recovery or safe mode your computer needs to be taken to apple and has a serious problem!!

5. Once in Recovery if you have a Time Machine backup i highly recommend restoring from that but otherwise go into Disk Utility and select your Macs built in hard drive on the left bar then click Verify Disk then if a problem is detected Repair the Disk. Restart your com and see if problem is fixed.

6. If all of the above steps have not worked you can reinstall Mac OS X in recovery but if you have not backed up your stuff on a hard drive and cant afford to lose it take your computer to apple and explain the problem.

I hope this helped!  If you have any questions ask below.

If you ever see the screen to the left your computer cant find the OS so Mac OS needs to be reinstalled or you need to take your com to apple because its most likely your Macs hard drive is corrupted...
