How to change the Finder, Trash and all Default apple icons.

Previously i have shown how you can easily Change All of your Macs Icons. In this i will show you how to change default icons like the finder one manually.

First go to finder/Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices and find Dock.app.

Right click on Dock.app and click show package contents.

Then go to contents/resources.

In resources find finder@2x.png, finder.png and finder128.png.

Now if the icon you have downloaded is a picture all you need to do is duplicate it 3 times and remane them to the three names above and replace them.

However if the icon is not a picture but a folder here is what you need to do to turn it into a picture.

1. Right click on the icon you want to change to a picture and click get info.

2. Click on the little icon by its name and hit cmd c

3. Open preview and go file open from clipboard.

4. You will then have a series of icons save one of the sizes to your desktop as a .png and there you are.. :)
