How to install Backtrack onto Mac - Multi Boot Mac and Linux

So in this post i will show you how you can actually install Backtrack onto your mac and chose when you boot up weather you want to start up in Backtrack or Mac OS X without DVDs or USB drives. So far i have not got this to work on Kali Linux but am working on it and will write about it if i succeed. If you have successfully installed Kali onto Mac OS X please leave a comment. Correct me if I'm wrong but So far i have not seen any tutorials for doing this on a Mac.

Requirements:
- A Backup of your files!
- A fair amount of free space
- Backtrack 5 R3
- Unetbooten (We will trick a partition into acting as a USB drive to Unetbooten)
- rEFIt Installed on your computer.

So the first thing you need to do is back up your files. When ever you do something like this i.e partitioning your hard drive you should do a fresh backup of your files before proceeding.

1. Open BootCamp Utility and partition your Hard Drive to the smallest Quota space it will allow you to do. NOTICE: Any errors you might encounter when trying to partition using BootCamp can generally be fixed by googling the error message or if that dose not fix the problem a clean restore on your Mac will..

2. Open your BootCamp drive that now should appear as well as Macintosh HD and copy the files inside BOOTCAMP to a separate folder on your Desktop.

3. Install rEFIt. Then restart your computer twice. The second time you start up you should appear at the rEFIt start up page. If you don't you most likely have in-counted an error and to fix this click here.

4. Open Terminal and type: 'diskutil list' without the '' and look for your BootCamp partition. If this there is no usb drives plugged in and this is you first partition then it should be under /dev/disk1 under your Macintosh HD and your looking for the word under the IDENTIFIER tab so like disk0s3.

5. Install and Open Unetbooten. Check the USB drive install and select your BootCamp partition. Then select your Backtrack ISO file and hit continue.

6. Once its done reboot and select the new drive that will appear next to the apple Logo on rEFIt. (it may appear as a windows icon). Then you should be greeted with which mode you want to boot Backtrack in just press enter and boot in default mode. At this point you may realise that at the moment you are running backtrack as a live boot so every thing you do is not recorded to the hard drive and will be lost when rebooted. If you want to properly install it click here to find part 2 however i quite like having the live boot situation because nothing is recorded to your computer so its safer in a way because a simple reboot will clear any evidence of your hack...
Please leave a comment if you have any problems or check out some of my other posts on actually how to hack with Backtrack.

PART 2 (will be written tomorrow)
